Grounds Maintenance Labourer

Duration: Up to 35 hours/week for up to 10 weeks

The Grounds Maintenance Labourer reports to the Lead Pastor, the Facilities Lead, and the Garden Team  Lead. The Lead Pastor will be their official supervisor.

Tasks & Responsibilities
• Landscaping
• General outdoor & indoor maintenance
• Garden upkeep
• Lawn care

Skills & Qualifications
• Able to tolerate the physical demands of the job (i.e., manual labor)
• Self-motivated
• Energetic
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Respectful team player that works well with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Experience with landscaping an asset
• Current Police Information Check

Administrative Assistant

Duration: Up to 15 hours/week for up to 23 weeks
Hourly rate: $15.50/hour

The Administrative Assistant reports to the Lead Pastor and the Board Chair.

Tasks & Responsibilities
• Respond to and track internal and external inquiries via email and mail communication
• Organize church files
• Track and digitize personnel documentation
• Update personnel databases
• Monitor and update church website and social media accounts
• Monitor and update church calendar
• Other tasks as required

Skills & Qualifications
• Education and experience an asset
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in administrative tasks
• Strong ability to multitask, organize, and meet deadlines
• Proactive and strong decision-making skills
• Ability to be self-directed once supervisor has provided direction and instruction
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Access to scanner and printer
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally and discreetly
• Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check

Church Worker: Kids & Youth Ministry Director

Duration: Up to 35 hours/week for up to 10 weeks
Hourly rate: $17.00/hour

The Kids & Youth Ministry Director reports to the Lead Pastor.

Tasks & Responsibilities
• Plan and prepare age-appropriate curriculum for children and youth in Sunday School and Youth Group settings
• Lead Children’s and Youth programs
• Supervise and mentor volunteers in Children’s and Youth programs
• Organize and schedule church events for children, youth, and families
• Collaborate with volunteers, Lead Pastor & Associate Ministry Director for intergenerational ministry
• Ensure Child Safety Policy is being followed by all involved volunteers and staff
• Facilitate community support and networking in the neighborhood of Bowness where the church is located

Skills & Qualifications
• Education and experience working with children and youth an asset
• High school diploma required
• Ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds
• Supportive, open-minded and calm professional
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
• Understanding of parish church model, supervision experience, and conflict resolution skills are assets
• Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check

Church Worker: Associate Ministry Director

Duration: Up to 35 hours/week for up to 10 weeks
Hourly rate: $17.00/hour

The Associate Ministry Director reports to the Lead Pastor.

Tasks & Responsibilities
• Develop sermon series
• Liaise and collaborate with worship coordinator, other ministry leads, and members of ministry teams
• Organize and schedule church events
• Facilitate community support and networking in the neighborhood of Bowness where the church is located
• Collaborate with volunteers, Ministry Director & Associate Ministry Director
• Other tasks as requested by Lead Ministry Director

Skills & Qualifications
• Education and experience in pastoral ministry an asset
• High school diploma required
• Ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds
• Supportive, open-minded, and professional
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
• Understanding of parish church model and conflict resolution skills are assets
• Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
