We met at the Bowwest Motors plot along 35 Ave, and we pulled dried sunflowers and sunchokes from last year. Surprise, surprise…we found veggie gold!!! We harvested almost four bins of sunchokes that had grown last year. Cucumbers were planted and Rod named this plot of land our “pickling” plot with hopes of planting dill too, and then pickling cucumbers in the late summer. It was a good afternoon.

    Tanis watered the garden.

May 19 & 20: Drizzling rain today. Did not water the garden.

Finally planted the sweetpeas along the small front fence close to the church entrance. Added some soil along the fence to help these sweetpeas grow. Put some flags there to warn others that sweatpeas are planted there.

Fingers crossed that these sweetpeas grow tall and strong this year after last year’s didnt work. Excited for the beautiful flowers!!
