Philippians is a friendly letter. Paul has great fondness for the people of Philippi, and he has great admiration for their enduring commitment to their faith in Jesus. All admonition in the letter is in regards to protecting and maintaining their vibrant faith. Paul primary concern in his own mission and in the mission of the Philippian church is the advancing of the gospel. Every situation, regardless of circumstances, is an opportunity for the gospel to be demonstrated and proclaimed. Jesus is the gospel. Jesus offers the gospel. And Jesus calls the church to proclaim the gospel.

Read Philippians through in one sitting.

How do you understand the gospel? How would you define the gospel?
