Philippians – Trust Your Identity in Christ

Paul finishes his letter to his friends in Philippi with one more encouragement to live the gospel life. The letter contains Paul’s conventional greetings, but first Paul concludes the exhortation that began in 1:27: “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.”

For the sake of the advancing of the gospel in Philippi, Paul encourages his friends to overcome the pressures that the culture is putting on the church, and to trust the new life that they have in Christ. Their relationship with Jesus gives purpose and power to their presence in Philippi. Everything is oriented around Christ and for his sake.

This week’s scripture focus: Read Philippians 4
